Dear John & Bud,
I am so thrilled by the performance and playability of the Carter, that I can hardly find words to describe how pleased I am. It is so stable and well built. I mean, I move it from my music room at home to a bandstand maybe 50 or 100 miles away, take it out of the van, give a few minutes to adjust to the room temperature, and I rarely have to tune even the open strings. The pulls do not need adjusting, they stay right where I left them.
The tone is every bit as good as I expected. It plays and sustains as well or better than my last steel and is more comfortable to sit behind than any one I have owned so far. Changing the pac-a-seat to a normal height was probably the best adjustment I have ever made. I don't know how, but it made a world of difference in my picking, especially on single note runs and licks. I guess that the angle of my right hand is now proper as opposed to before, with the seat too high, I had too much of a slope.
Thanks for a really good instrument. It's made a world of difference in my ability to concentrate on learning to play pedal steel guitar ... now, I do not have to fight the pedals and knee levers anymore; now, they are just second nature ... and the whole instrument fits me "like a glove".
I don't understand why all Pedal Steel players are not playing a Carter Steel Guitar. You can tell them I said so!
I like you folks and I like your product and I appreciate your listening and caring about my concerns and needs in a good quality professional instrument.
I sent a few pictures to choose from. Keep up the good work with the Carter. Bud really is a master. I hope to see you soon. Thanks.
Sincere regards,
Bill C. Buntin
