August 6, 1997 Hi CARTER Family, I received a large cardboard box on Friday which contained a fabulous Navy Blue D-10 Carter. I played 2 short gigs during the weekend, plus about 20 minutes familiarization on Friday afternoon! I reckon I have about the best D-10 a player could have. Thank you all, Bud, John , and Ann, for enabling me to have this great pedal steel guitar. If Junior had not come to Townsville [Australia, where I was living at the time] and been such a nice guy, I may not have bought my new guitar until I finally made it to the USA. I would not have known what I was missing out on for that time! And, the two local players have seen my Carter and they both loved it! Not only the players but nearly everyone comments on how much better the Carter sounds than my old MSA. I think that speaks volumes because these are not steel players and so would not listen the same as you and I. BUT they can hear the tremendous improvement in sound. I always thought my MSA Camino SS was a good guitar but my CARTER is hugely better. The guitar is so very responsive and the sustain is great!! Besides that, it is a real joy to play.
