July 8, 1997 I am very glad I bought my Carter Steel Guitars. I have 3 Carters. I use my burgundy D-10 Carter on the road with LeAnn Rimes. My other Carter D-10 is black, with dual George L's E-66 pickups. My 3rd Carter is a Swirly Figured Mahogany S-12, with a Bb tuning. I have always compared every steel to my favorite Black MCI. I like the Carters I play now even better than my MCI. My Carters play better than my black MCI, although I could not imagine that until I played it. I love the Carter! It is the best steel guitar I have ever played. Of all the great guitars that I've played through the years, my Carter fits me best. If you want a guitar that all you have to do is: "Take it out of the case, set it up, and play it", then the Carter is for you! My Carter does everything that I expect a steel guitar to do. All I have to do is play the licks. It stays perfectly in tune and sustains and sustains and sustains . . . It allows me to concentrate on what's important: the MUSIC, instead of the mechanics ... With the Carter, I don't have to worry about planning my moves 5 beats down the song, whether or not your KLs are sloppy or hard ... All I have to do is worry about playing the lick ... I do not have to worry about playing the guitar. If I change the strings every 2-3 weeks, I never have to tune it with the tuning nuts. Once in a while, maybe I have to tune it on the keyhead because maybe I have hit the keyhead while putting it in or out of the case I think the tone is comparable to a good '65 - '69 push-pull Emmons. To me, it comes as close, if not closer, than any guitar I've heard out there that's trying to sound like a good push-pull Emmons. It has a "mellow, yet bell-like, 'Emmons-type tone'", which I like a lot. I also think that "service-after-sale" is as important as good quality tone and workmanship. As far as I'm concerned, Carter Steel Guitars, provides superior service after the sale.
