Dear Carter Steel Guitars:
It is very difficult to put into mere words those things that touch your soul. My Carter guitar is one of those.
The tone and sustain really have to be heard. The pedal and knee lever action is butter-smooth.
Cosmetically, it is very classy looking. Reminds me of a Rolls Royce.
I am a relatively new pedal steel player and was very pleased to find my playing improved as soon as I began to play the Carter.
Many "rough-spots" I had experienced on my other steels smoothed out nicely thanks to the feel and control over the pedals on the Carter.
Instant gratification!I like my Carter much better than my 2 prior steels, one of which was a student model. It is nice and easy to make changes and work on with little or no effort. I recently switched a couple of knee levers around and even tuning it up afterward was a breeze!
It's a joy to play and it is so light! I have a bad back and it is so great to be able to lift it without any problem.
I have wanted to play pedal steel all my life. First, I played standard guitar -- classical, steel string, and bass. This has been a dream come true, all the way around.
Thank you to Bud Carter for creating such a fine instrument.
And, thanks to Al Brisco for his invaluable advice and service.
Sincerely,
Bill Lake
