December 17, 2001 Hi Bud and John, WOW! What a great steel guitar. The MECHANICAL and SOUND dynamics of my Carter D-10 (with BCT) are SUPERIOR to ANY steel on the market today. It is amazing that you were able to take off the weight and KEEP the FAT SOUND! Our sound tech has noticed that I now have excellent sustain all over the neck. His exact words were "S-W-E-E-T". Everyone in the band is impressed and pleased with the tones I am getting. With my MSA, I had to use a lot of processed signal (delay, reverb and compression) to get a good sound. Now with my Carter D-10, I am able to cut back a lot on my processed signal. The Carter sounds great without any of that. By the way, originally I had planned to leave my D-10 MSA set up for practice at home. After playing my Carter D-10 for a few weeks, I truly prefer the Carter. I guess I will sell my MSA soon and get another Carter! I hope LOTS of other steel players get a chance to play a Carter Steel Guitar.
