Dear Bud, John, and Ann:

Just wanted to let you know how happy I am with my new D-10 Carter with BCT. I've played a ShoBud, an MSA and then an Emmons D10 since 1975. I've procastinated about getting a new Carter for the past several years and finally did it just recently. I took it out on my first job last Saturday night with my band "The West Wind" at the VFW Christmas party in Dennison. I've never been so pleased with anything and just wish I had gotten it 2 years ago.

The sound is great - my wife and others came up to me and said "it sounds so clean". As a matter of fact - I forgot to turn on the effects loop for one entire set and never noticed it until the end of the set. Several people came up during the night and commented on how good the guitar looked.

The only thing I was a little concerned about that night was "would I know how to tune it when it finally goes out of tune?" This thing is absolutely amazing - I never even thought about tuning it all night long - even when the big cooling fans came on and blew directly onto my Carter. And I didn't break a string all night long.

I was pleased right off the bat - when I packed everything up and loaded it into my van for the trip to the club and noticed I wasn't 'out of breath' as I always was with the Emmons. How something so light can sound so good and hold tuning so well I will never understand. I bought the Carter because Bud had worked on my Emmons in the past and always did better then expected - he really outdid even himself when he designed and built this guitar. And John's idea to mount my old volume pedal on my new Carter worked great. I had absolutely no trouble playing my new Carter.

And by the way, the new Peavey Nashville 112 worked great and was much easier on my back then my Session 500. We fed the preamp out jack into another small Peavey on the other side of the stage and had plenty of volumn all night long. John steered me right on the amplifier, as well.

I also bought a new Peterson VSII tuner and although I didn't need it for the Carter, I used it to tune my 6 string and WOW what a difference that tempered guitar tuning made.

My only regret - the wife won't let me get another Carter so that I have one here at home to play while the other one is set up at a job - but I'm working on her.
