May 19, 2000 Dear John, Bud, and Ann: This photo is taken in front of a "Snow Plow" on the railroad tracks, on the way to Portage Glacier from Anchorage. Being that I am in the studio doing session work with my Carter almost every day, I figured these photos would look better than a bunch of wires, and recording stuff ;) As you know I received my Carter with BCT Technology in December of 1999. Right out of the box, my Carter was my dream guitar. The fit was perfect. It was beyond anything I had hoped for! And it sustains longer than any guitar that I have ever played. I have found my Carter to be totally even in volume and tone all the way across from string to string and all the way up the neck! The metal work is about the most precise and most clean that I have seen. Above all, it is a BLAST to play, and I never have to fight it! Also Carter's service is second to none. And, as you suggested, I have read thru the Owner's Manual. I do not ever remember seeing a steel guitar manual before, except on my old MSA. I see all this stuff about Push-Pull Emmons and how they are the greatest and all, but I do not get it. Emmons sound great BUT they are a beast to play! If you play an Emmons while wearing shorts, it will leave a welt from where the knee levers touch your leg -- very hard to push and the pedals are even stiffer!
