February 28, 2000 Bud, John and Ann, As you know, I just sold my non-BCT Carter, which I loved a lot, and bought a brand new Carter with BCT (with George L's E66 & 10-1 pickups). I only have one word to describe my new Carter: A-W-E-S-O-M-E. After 11 hours of playing my new Carter this weekend on 3 gigs, I think I can safely say this is the last steel guitar I'll ever have to buy. It does everything I could possibly ask for and makes playing it a joy. It simply feels good when you sit behind it. The pedals and knees are as smooth as silk, the action is positive and responsive, and the tone and sustain are out of this world. I have 2 other "name brand" guitars, 1 brand new and another 2 years old -- the band members were unanimous in their view that I had the best sound this past weekend that I have ever had. Having recently played both non-BCT Carter and BCT, I can comment on the effect of BCT - it is enormous! The tone and sustain are equal to or better than any I have ever heard or played. I had a '70 Push-Pull Emmons that I bought new and recently traded for a new Lashley LeGrande II, and this Carter will match the tone of that '70 Push-Pull without a doubt in my mind. The Carter's chimes are like bells. The overall tone is very warm. The sustain of even the high notes is amazing. I would not change a thing. Thank you, all my friends at Carter, for building what I consider to be the best steel guitar I've ever played. I would advise anyone in the market to investigate the Carter before they buy, and any non-BCT Carter owners to investigate the BCT UpGrade -- it's worth every penny in my opinion. I love it !!!!!!!
