May 11 2004 Dear Bud, John, and Ann: I wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying my new Carter D-10 with BCT (Body-ContactTM Technology). It plays and sounds just great!!! The pedal and knee lever actions are accurate and smooth as silk. The tone is warm, full and has a nice little "edge" to it. The high notes are clear and sparkling; the lows are strong and deep; and the mids are sweet but subtle: incredible balance and definition. This guitar has "The Sound" that I've been trying to get for years. Truly an awesome sounding instrument! Several years ago, I had the chance to play a Carter (pre-BCT) and was impressed with the quality, playability, and tone. But, with my new Carter and its BCT design: OH MY GOSH!!! The tone and sustain are amazing. The thing that really stands out for me is the string separation within the sound. I can hear each string of a chord so clearly and so evenly. This really is a giant step forward in pedal steel guitar design and construction - Way To Go Bud!! My new Carter has really put the fun back into my playing. This guitar just seems to say "Hey, come play me; let's make some music together". I can now spend more time on improving my musical skills and less time on guitar maintenance and tuning. What really blew me away is the fact that it arrived in tune!!!! (How can a guitar be bounced 1,100 miles by UPS and stay in tune?) I have only had to tune it once since then, and that was over a month ago! I had no idea that a steel guitar could stay in tune so well (my old guitar sure didn't). By this time, you probably have gotten the idea that I am pretty happy with my new Carter D-10. The quality construction, great looks and style, and attention to detail, along with its smooth action and amazing tone, makes this the finest steel guitar I have ever played. My playing ability is not worth of such a wonderful musical instrument, but you can't have it back - IT'S MINE!!!! I also thank you for all your help and support with my order. It was pleasure meeting and talking with you, John -- thanks for your ideas and insights. You all made this a very positive buying experience for me: fast and easy with great service.
