May 15, 2002 Dear Bud, John, and Ann: Purchasing my Carter D-10 (with BCT technology) this year has been the best and most inspiring thing to happen to me musically speaking in 20 years. I am very comfortable with my Carter. And have you heard that incredible TONE on the Opry?! Wow, I think everyone would agree, I sound better than I ever have on the Carter. Everything about it is wonderful! Guitar sounds so good ... I am nuts about this Carter! I had not realized how far technology had progressed until I received this Carter. It really has made a big difference in how I feel about playing music. I have not felt this inspired to play pedal steel guitar in 20 years. I love it. I look forward to a long relationship with this Carter. When you play a Carter, it's easy to smile! Lots of players are noticing how much more I grin when I play it! Ergonomically I am so much more comfortable playing it than other steels I've ever played. It's just amazing! In the recording sessions I do, all the engineers love it -- goes on tape so well! Recently, I did a 12-hour recording session and did not have to do ANYTHING to the Carter -- did not have to tweak, tune, change strings -- nothing! The Carter just hung in there all day long sounding fantastic and playing wonderfully! The Carter sells itself; I don't know why anyone would not want to play it after trying it!
