November 20, 2001 Dear Mr. Bud Carter and Mr. John Fabian! You don't know me sirs. My name is Wayne Brown. I'm no one famous -- just a local guitarist who took up the pedal steel about 15 years ago. I live in Alberta, Canada. I have owned almost every pedal steel guitar made at one time or another. I bought my 1st steel locally from a guy in Alberta named Doug Amen. It was a 1968 red 4 pedal Emmons push-pull. Due to the way things turned out, let's just say that I had to learn how to repair it myself and I learned the hard way (as you can well imagine with a push-pull). I then moved out to the west coast of Canada where I met other steel players (local players nobody famous). Nevertheless, these players taught me alot and I started repairing their guitars from a 1966 Emmons D10 to a MSA to a JCH to a Miller to a Linkon, Mullen, most all brands. About 8 years ago Al Brisco told me about the Carter and I sort of said 'you know, whatever'. For quite some time, I have liked Mullen -- until I played my Carter! A bit of background: about 3 weeks ago I made a bad mistake and bought a Nashville LTD guitar because it was low-priced and when it arrived, I found out that I had owned every guitar it was made from. That steel was here for about 4 hours -- I did not even take it out of the shawdy road case! So, I sent it back to the seller. Then, I did some research and chose to pay the extra money and ordered a Carter with BCT (Body-ContactTM Technology) from Al Brisco. Until the moment it arrived, I had always said that if I did not like it I would sell it or trade it off to get a Mullen because I know Mullen's standards. Well, the Carter arrived yesterday and, what a guitar! The finishing on the neck! The detail! The top notch craftsmanship! And how EASY it plays! Mr. Carter and Mr. Fabian, I am very very, very happy. This CARTER is the LAST GUITAR I will ever buy! I will push CARTERs! Al Brisco was right: the CARTERs are wonderful. I have never gotten SO MUCH product for my MONEY! The TONE -- whoa!!!!!!! It only took Al Brisco 8 years to convince me ...and now: wow! So i just wanted you to know: I will play CARTERs till the day I die! SIRS: YOU MAKE A FANTASTIC PRODUCT!! Keep up the good work! a very happy boy Wayne Brown
