John, Bud, and Ann:
Ever since Tommy White insisted I play his Carter back in early 2002 at the Grand Ole Opry, I had to have one, too.
I am so glad I chose to purchase a Carter. As you know, I've been playing my Carter with BCT technology on the road with Gene Watson. I tell a lot of other road players, who play other brands and think I should play another brand, too, that I actually was going to buy another brand -- until I tried a Carter.
I create on this Carter. My Franklin has not been out of the case since I got my Carter. People like my tone on the Carter. Everybody tells me that the sustain on this steel is great! I believe in playing less rather than more and the sustain really helps there. Everybody says they love the way it rings.
There's something about my Carter -- just sitting down to it, it really inspires me and it keeps doing so. I've come up with some surprising licks and chords on this steel (that's what you get when you sit at a guitar you really like). I've been able to do half-pedal changes I could not do before, for instance (and I stay in tune!) I really look forward to pulling it out of the case ~ it makes me smile.
I love my Carter. When I play this steel, I don't have to think about it, playing on it comes naturally ~ the Carter plays itself.
When I'm out on the road, I tell people oftentimes, I was offered another brand free but I did not want to play that guitar. I want to play a Carter, so I bought a Carter. You make a great product.
Best wishes,
Corky Owens
