Hello John, Ann, and Bud.
I am so pleased with my new Blue Birdseye mica S-12 Universal Carter with BCT. I have played MSA's for years, so I am accustomed to a stable mechanical instrument. I did not think the tuning stability could be improved above my heavy MSA's, but it is. The biggest difference is the tone. The Carter has a clear, bell-like tone. I realize string musical instruments have vibration modes other than the strings. I believe BCT has minimized the vibration modes that work desctructively with the string vibration that reduces sustain.
This Carter just sustains forever ~~ which changes the way I play.
The guitar was setup perfectly. Everything is right where it needs to be. The feature new to me, is the long vertical knee lever. I can access it from any pedal position. The pedal and lever action is so smooth. It is kind of like going from an old station wagon without shock absorbers to a BMW.
One outstanding benefit of upgrading to a Carter is the weight. The guitar in the case is 20 pounds lighter than I was used to ... what a relief.
I cannot say enough about the customer serivce. From my first phone call to the moment I walked out the door, it was awesome. John gave me some great advice on my copedant. This universal tuning I use has full implementation of the ABC pedals on the low strings, which would normally burden the mechanics. It does not seem to bother the Carter at all.
Many people have seen and heard the instrument in the 5 months I have owned it, and love the sound. The non-musician folks at the gigs have commented on its undeniable beauty.
I am proud to know the folks that have made a world-class designed, high quality and competitively priced product.
Thanks,
Terry Downs
